Session 1: Qigong and Silk-Reeling.
10:30 AM-1 PM. (Late registration 10:00)

Silk reeling movements, like Tai Chi form, are moving qigong. The spiraling movements are built on the foundation of static qigong: sitting, standing, and lying down. In the morning session, Dr. Yang will teach the essential elements of static qigong and how to build the silk-reeling energy from this foundation. Dr. Yang’s emphasis is on nurturing the body, mind and spirit in a balanced manner.

Session 2: Silk-Reeling for Flexibility, Balance and Martial Applcation.
2:30 - 5:00 PM.

It has been said that “Tai Chi is the art of silk-reeling.” Silk reeling exercises promote circulation, flexibility, and balance, and these in turn are fundamental for health, daily activity, and martial art application. Silk-reeling is essential to the push-hands skills of sticking and neutralizing. Additional silk-reeling exercises will be taught in the afternoon session that will inform and compliment your form and push-hands practice regardless of form style.
